Mr. Quies has extensive experience calculating economic damages in the context of commercial litigation where he has been responsible for matters involving telecommunications, pharmaceuticals, insurance, entertainment, and manufacturing, among other areas.  He has been retained as an expert to determine damages in fields ranging from intellectual property to real estate.

 Mr. Quies also has advised real estate developers and investors regarding property valuations, acquisitions, sourcing and structuring capital, and asset dispositions.

As a member of the faculty at the Practicing Law Institute, Mr. Quies has lectured on financial theory and its practical applications in litigation.  Work by Mr. Quies has been published by the American Bar Association.  Mr. Quies has appeared as a panelist at an IP Monetization Conference at The Center for American and International Law where he spoke on the determination of FRAND royalty rates.  Most recently, Mr. Quies co-authored a study on the projected economic impact of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.  Prior to his consulting activities, Mr. Quies played and coached soccer professionally.

Mr. Quies received a Bachelor of Arts degree in politics, philosophy, and economics cum laude from Claremont McKenna College, where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa.  He earned a Master of Business Administration with majors in finance and real estate from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.  At Wharton, he won a John A. Mayer Scholarship for academic performance and was a Shattuck Fellow.  He is a member of the Urban Land Institute.
